We Don't Walk Alone

I experienced my first motivational talk via the Internet. In the course of running my first business, I found the talk — and the ones that came hard on its heels — both encouraging and enlightening. I may be an avid reader, but even through a computer screen, the talks offered a more direct and personal impact. They’ve helped to guide me — and inspire me! — in a myriad of different ways.

My Passion for Speaking

I find now that it’s extremely satisfying work to share what I’ve learned as a business owner, through my own motivational talks. I especially like speaking with teenagers on the cusp of adulthood. It’s a challenging time to become an adult, and many teens are ill-equipped to function effectively in the workplace. As an adult who doesn’t have a role of authority in their lives, I’m often able to reach them in ways that teachers and parents may not. As someone who has been self-employed for most of her career, I also give them the perspective of someone who’s functioned as both “boss” and employee.

Diversity & Compassion

There’s an underlying focus on “Diversity & Compassion” in my motivational talks; the more we know about each other’s histories, the easier it is to come together and be productive together.

Together We Evolve: Finding Our Place in a Global Melting Pot

We are now living in an increasingly global melting pot. Many of us have witnessed the importance of taking a broader interest in ways to live together GLOBALLY. My talks are centered around how to find one’s place in the world — and to use whatever resources we have access to — to create satisfying lives for ourselves, and to contribute to our joint evolution.

Engaging Through the Power of Song and Story

I include songs in my presentation that underscore the important points made in the talk. They help to keep an audience engaged. It’s very similar to the way our ancestors gathered around the communal fire to share news, offer teachings through songs and stories, and keep our history alive – through words, whether they were sung or spoken.

I speak and sing in English and Spanish, and can make my presentation in either language.
